Re: Weird Errors Loading Ancestry Library Edition
Scott, I am using the latest version but I am guessing it is somehow a firewall issue (assuming the IE based version works differently as we never had issue there). I cannot test via the link you provided as the county blocks that for shareware and freeware. So, I guess for these 4 PCs I have to loo...

Re: Weird Errors Loading Ancestry Library Edition
Scott, A fresh, unaltered ini gives me the same errors. Plain Chrome does not. This is on my work PC, inside the firewall. I remoted home and tested with PWB and do not get the error, which normally would lead me to think our firewall is the culprit. Yet I have no issues inside the firewall with Moz...

Re: Weird Errors Loading Ancestry Library Edition
Scratch that, IE on Windows 7 will produce the message from FamilySearch.org regardless:

Re: Weird Errors Loading Ancestry Library Edition
I see what could be my issue: You need at least Windows Vista (PWB IE), Windows 8.0 (PWB CEF) to use PWB v3. I am running this on Windows 7 as another one of our sites, Familysearch.org has issues in the previous version using IE. Inside PWB I get: Attention: This site does not support the current v...

Re: Weird Errors Loading Ancestry Library Edition
Scott, I did disable my use of the URL.txt file and the first site I tested was Facebook. Facebook is not blocked by our firewall (nor is Ancestry) and I got a similar screen with a different error: Sorry we are unable to load: https://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/viewthroughconversion/9951538...

Weird Errors Loading Ancestry Library Edition
I have moved to the Chromium version as some of the sites we use at the library are not working on the IE based version. Most everything runs well except when we try and access Ancestry Library Edition (hard part to troubleshoot is it is accessible in-library only). The page loads briefly then flash...

Thanks Scott.
From one of your other posts it looks like a simple switch as well.

Need Advice - Public Library
We have long used PWB to lock down certain public machines, mostly OPACs and PCs used for database use only. Some of the popular genealogy sites are not working as well with PWB/IE. As I have not been here in a long time, would you suggest I move to the Chromium version or do you have other suggesti...

Re: Access Denied - Inconsistent
Yeah, since I was trying to restrict the social media sites (as these are database/research machines) I figured that had something to do with it.
Found a work around that is good.
Thanks as always!

Re: Access Denied - Inconsistent
Best I can tell ... NC LIVE's page has links to Facebook, etc and I am blocking it ... so the dialogue will pop but NC LIVE will be allowed. Same for DigitalNC.
Best I can do so I will live with it.

Re: Access Denied - Inconsistent
Ok, I am at a loss.
I am allowing everything for testing purposes and PWB still pops an Access Denied on two sites:
http://nclive.org/
http://www.digitalnc.org/
Help?

Access Denied - Inconsistent
In my URL.txt file I have added +all and a - out certain sites.
I have a few Internet shortucts on my desktop, for database access. Some open fine and some give the access denied error - ones that are not resticted sites or - out sites.
Any advice?

Re: Setting PWB as default browser in a user profile
Ok, I think this can be done within Windows fairly easily ...
1. Log into the user account
2. Click Start
3· Click Default Programs
4· Click Set program access and computer defaults
5· Expand Custom
6· Select the Internet browser you want to use under Choose a default web browser:
7· Click OK

Setting PWB as default browser in a user profile
I am running Windows 7, 64bit.
I have installed the BETA for SETPWB (one mentioned for Vista, etc).
PWB will operate as the default browser in my admin profile but not a user profile (which is my goal).
Any suggestions?
