Encoding options

I'm evaluating PWB for our Publics, and trying to configure it so that our public patrons can access and modify the encoding options which are normally viewed under IE|View|Encoding...

Is this possible? And if so, which settings do I need to change?

You need to allow right-clicking. In the ini file set 'Encoding=True' under '[ContextMenu]'.

We have this as the only option on our context-menu.

Thanks for the info. It worked. Don't suppose there is a way to add an 'Encoding' button or pull down menu?

Also, I'm trying to get the Global IME options to work on this XP station for CJK with IE 6sp1. (No Office app loaded)

We are still in an NT4 domain for a few more months...so are locking the XP machines down with System Policy and local Group Policy settings at the moment. On our older NT-based systems with IE5x the Global IME option appears for our patrons to select the input language. However, I can't figure out how to access the input lang switching functions get it to work on the restricted guest account on the XP stations thus far. Any ideas?

Figured it out. Had to lighten up the restrictions on the taskbar in the System policy file.

Would still like to have an 'Encoding' button or pull down menu to save us from having to write up instructions for each public computer educating them to use the right click to get to this option...

Is there a reason why customers need to change the encoding manually?

IE should detect pages in a foreign language and adjust accordingly.

If you do have need to, I agree that a button or some such would be more intuitive for your users.
