PWB and PAMS content filtering

Post by sjrodriguez »

Hello all,

We are having a small issue with PWB and the PAMS content filtering piece. I looked over the other posting about PAMS and this may be related, although I'm not sure.

PAMS allows for content filtering if you configure the machine properly. What we have found is a machine configured with filtering will block access to these sites if you are using Internet Explorer, but on the same machine, using PWB allows access. I assume there is a DLL or something that plugs into IE that is NOT being used by PWB, and I have a call in to their technical support staff as well, but I was hoping someone else has seen this.

I am running PWB 2.09.3 and the latest version of the PAMS client (4.22). I am going to be looking through my INI file to see if maybe I disabled plugins or something, but any help would be appreciated.

How does PAMS start when filtering content?

If PAMS is running as a Internet Explorer Browser Helper Object (BHO) to filter the connate then it may not work with PWB. By design, PWB does not run Internet Explorer BHOs.
