We have these 2 new subscriptions and each have their own special issues. I thought I was able to resolve the Masterfile problem by upgrading to 2.11.7. But I think there may be something configured in IE of the user profile, as it displays the same.
Zinio just doesn't display at all. Zinio has informed us that IE 8 is not a supported browser, but we are using Windows 7 (64bit) and IE 9.
You can test them from here:

Re: Ebsco Masterfile and Zinio
Set the following setting from the INI file to blank.
[Browser]
IEBrowserEmulation=
This will tell PWB to use IE in native mode.
Please note if you are using IE 10.0 you will need to upgrade to PWB v2.11.8 or set it to "10000" (no quotes).

Re: Ebsco Masterfile and Zinio
Thanks Scott. I will give it a whirl.

Well, gave it a whirl. It still doesn't work. MasterFile displays a list and Zinio just says "This page cannot be displayed." Except as admin. They both work for admin.

Re: Ebsco Masterfile and Zinio
If the sites work in PWB for the Admin account it sounds like you have a permissions issue on the computer.

Or something in the group policy. I hate when that happens.Scott wrote:If the sites work in PWB for the Admin account it sounds like you have a permissions issue on the computer.

Re: Ebsco Masterfile and Zinio
Go to a site like what is my browser using PWB and see if it is reporting the correct version of IE for both the user account and the admin account. This will tell you if it is a profile of permissions issue.
PWB needs to write to the HKCU registry hive to set the correct value to turn off compatibility mode, do you have a policy set up to prevent access to the registry for the user?

Re: Ebsco Masterfile and Zinio
Correct, the user has no access to registry editing tools. I'm not sure that will necessarily stop PWB from doing what it needs to do, as it *should* be considered acting in the context of the system. I'm leaning more towards the PAC file, the "proxy" we use to limit Internet access to specific sites. It may not be up to date and there may be sites these new subscriptions are using that we are not aware of.Scott wrote:...

Re: Ebsco Masterfile and Zinio
Try setting the following in the Windows Registry.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION]
"PWB.exe"=10000
Where the values is a decimal value of 9000 for IE 9.0, or 10000 for IE 10.0.
This is the value PWB sets in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER hive when it starts to switch IE to native mode.

Re: Ebsco Masterfile and Zinio
Scott, I just want to apologize right up front. I have it all sorted out and PWB was not even a factor.
Our pac file didn't include the domains where these sites host their content.
You are the BEST Scott. *THE* Best and I sincerely appreciate your help.

Re: Ebsco Masterfile and Zinio
No need to apologize we would rather have the issues resolved by whatever means. Perhaps this thread will help someone else in the future.
