Something we've noticed: Gmail freezes in PWB3 if the person's account is set up with a theme besides "Light".

What version of PWB v3 are you using including the minor revision number, for example 3.03.6?

What version of Windows are you using?

What version of Internet Explorer are you using?

We have tried several themes in GMail without issue. Which theme specifically seems to be an issue, and what are the steps we need to follow to duplicate the issue?

Please note there was a GMail outage on January 24th when you posted the issue so this may not be PWB related.

I tested all of the themes and compiled this list:

Not working: Dark, Soft Gray, Lavender, Rose, Mustard, Wasabi, Seafoam, Mahogany, Eggplant, High Contrast, Wood, Desk, Beach, Mountains, Ocean, Planets, Turf, Tree Tops, Tree, Zoozimps, Candy, Bus Stop, Ninja, Tea House, Terminal, High Score, Android

Working: Light, Blue, Spearmint, Dusk, Pebbles, Graffiti, Cherry Blossom, Orcas Island

We've had this problem reported for a few weeks now; it was only on the 24th that we realized the patrons reporting it had set themes.

Here's how it occurs for us. Set one of the themes listed above. Reload the page. The loading bar will get stuck at a certain position (see attachment). It loads if you switch to basic HTML since the theme is disabled, but then the patrons get confused by the change in Gmail's layout.

Does it work with an unedited INI file?

Just out of curiosity try setting the following.

Just changing themes does not seem to prevent loading.

Yup! IEBrowserEmulation=10001 fixed it. Is there something problematic with having IE11 as a base for PWB?

We updated to IE11 because the IE10-based PWB wasn't loading some sites properly (Myspace, chiefly). However, it seems to be fine with that value set. Thank you for your assistance.

There seems to be some quirky machine to machine based issues with sites and the IE 11 ActiveX control. Settings IE 11 to version 10 Standards mode is very stable and seems to correct the issues. IE 11 is still relatively new and as sites catch up and IE is patched it usually works out. We seen the same thing with IE 10 in the early stages.

From our experience IE 11 in 10 standards mode is much better then IE 10 in native mode.

Ah, a patron just reported to me that setting this value disrupts Google search. It will return results, but the formatting is all incorrect. Attached is a screenshot of this. Would you like me to email you our full.ini?

Try the following:

That's just the PWB.ini that's downloaded with 3.03.6, right? Using that or our own ini with IEBrowserEmulation=10000 resolves the Gmail and Google issues. However, Optonline's email only works with IEBrowserEmulation=10001, whether in our ini or the unedited ini.

Interesting we are not seeing the GMail issues on any of our test computers with IE 11 in native mode.

Does PWB v2 have the same issues?

PWB v2 has the same problem with Optonline's email. Google searches and Gmail work though. This is with the unedited ini.
