PWB cef on-screen keyboard not appearing
PWB cef on-screen keyboard not appearing
Using PWB cef and Windows 10 with a touch screen monitor, I'm unable to get the on-screen keyboard to appear when touching a text box in a website. When switching to PWB IE, or a chrome browser, the on-screen keyboard works correctly. Is there anyway to correct this?
Thanks, Brian

What version of PWB CEF are you using including the minor revision number, for example 3.05.4?

Re: PWB cef on-screen keyboard not appearing
Try adding one or more of the following Chrome command line switches to the command line that starts PWB.
--touch-events
--enable-touch-drag-drop
--enable-touch-editing
--disable-usb-keyboard-detect

Re: PWB cef on-screen keyboard not appearing
I am using a Dell Optiplex 7480 AIO with a touchscreen. The onscreen keyboard pops up in every other application save PWB (CEF v.3.05.10), even after I add the command line switches (--touch-events --enable-touch-drag-drop --enable-touch-editing). These I added to a shortcut for PWB.
Am I putting the switches in the wrong place? even if I launch PWB through the command line, it still does not work.

Do you have PWB in Secure Mode?
Try using PWB with an unedited INI file to rule out any configuration issues.

Re: PWB cef on-screen keyboard not appearing
I suppose I shouls clarify; when I tap into the address bar, the onscreen keyboard comes up, but since we have PWB in kiosk mode (library catalog only), we don't have the address bar available for our users.
In our catalog, Google, or any other website that has input fields, the keyboard does not come up.
I tried it with an unedited INI to no avail, as well as booting in secure mode.
thanks,
- john

If there is a physical keyboard attached to the device try removing it.

Re: PWB cef on-screen keyboard not appearing
I have removed it, also restarting without the keyboard present (as it would be when I release it into "the wild"). It still seems to behave the same way.

Does Chrome work as expected?

Yes, it does. I am using kiosk mode to display a reservation station. When I use it in any web browser the touch screen displays the keyboard. When I open it in PWB the keyboard will not display.

Adding the following to the command line that starts PWB can fix the On Screen Keyboard not showing in certain circumstances.
--disable-usb-keyboard-detect
