I was curious about setting up AutoRegister for our Public Web Browser license. Looking at provided documentation, I believe I have the steps. I wanted to confirm my understanding of the process.

Step 1: Under [AutoRegister], I would type in the provided auto registration key into the "RegisterKey" field.
Step 2: Under [AutoRegister], I would type in a password of our library's choosing into the "RegisterPassword" field.
Step 3: Under [Browser], I would confirm or type in our provided registration name in the "RegisteredTo" field.
Step 4: Under [AutoRegister], I would confirm or type in "30" under the "RegisterDaysLeft" field.

If done correctly, I understand the following should happen:

• 30 days prior to current registration expiration, PWB will check for a new registration number

• With license renewal, our PWB will receive the new registration number and populate it into the "RegistrationNumber" field automatically

As I have observed, our library renews our PWB license in advance of the expiration date. Before I make any changes is there any reason I would not want to set up AutoRegister? This comes to mind as I would be doing this for the first time for our library (to my knowledge).

In order for PWB to write to the INI file being used to configure PWB, the INI file needs to be writeable by the user running PWB. This includes the INI file not being in the "C:\Program Files..." folder. If the INI file is writeable by the user running PWB this can open a security issue if the user can gain access to the file.

In our installations of PWB we found it easier to use shared INI files from a read only folder on the network. This provides an easy one stop spot to update the registration number, and any other adjustments we need to make to PWB.
