Disabling Using Alt Key to See Menus (File, Edit, etc.)

Post by wgragg »

Perhaps there is a plugin I missed or a setting in the ini file I missed, but I was doing some final tests before I put this machine out and found I can still access the file menu and such by using Alt-F, etc. Is there a way to disable that which I am missing?

Thanks,
Wendell

To disable the hot keys set the top level menus to false.

[MenuItems]
FileMenu=False
...
EditMenu=False
...
ViewMenu=False
...

The setting [Browser]ShowMenuBar does not add the menu to the bar, the actual menu is still present.

An interesting side note. If you set [Browser]ShowMenuBar=False, disable all the top level menus, and [MenuItems]FileMenu=H&idden. You can have a hidden file menu accessed using Alt-I. Useful as a simple security function that still allows access to the file menu.

another problem

I am also having a problem. I am trying to configure for a public catalog, where there is no need for a toolbar. I have it all locked down, but when I try ALT+F4, it bounces me right out of the browser. How can I lock that, but allow access to the desktop for myself with a password. I have tried the H?idden suggestion, but it didn't work for me.
I am new at this, and can use all the help I can get!
Thanks!
