PWB does not display online tax filing page

Post by spragers »

Hi,

When trying to view the following site:

https://ww2.dor.state.wi.us/GenericFile ... ew=1071600

We receive the following error message:

2004 Wisconsin FreeFile is now in operation. if you've received this page the link you used is in error. You will need to close your browser, open a new browser and visit our home page (http://www.dor.state.wi.us) to get the new link.

This happens both in PWB on our public stations and in FireFox on staff stations, but not in regular IE on staff stations (which displays the page correctly).

Hope you can help :)

Update:

I cleared the cache and the cookies, and logged off and back on, and now the page works in IE and PWB, although I had to start from the following URL.

http://www.dor.state.wi.us.

The link on this page links to

https://ww2.dor.state.wi.us/GenericFile ... ew=1118165

Which is slightly different then the link in the original post.

Scott,

I get the same error no matter which page I start from. I cleared all saved information, then rebooted (turning DriveShield back on). No luck yet. I then turned off DriveShield, rebooted, cleared all Internet information, logged off and back on, got the same error page.'

Then.... I logged off, and logged in as the administrator. It worked on the first try.

I'm going to post this for now and try a few more things in the meantime.

Deffinately sounds like a permissions issue. I wonder if the site is downlaoding something that is locked for the user.

Update: I logged in as the local administrator, and maually deleted all of the history and temp files, and was then able to access the page. The patron who wanted to use it then came in and said she had called, and they told her the site had been down but was back online now. I don't really buy that, since we were able to access it with IE on our staff machines all along.

So far only one person has asked to use it, but this was the first day it was available online, so I guess I know what I'll be doing before we open tomorrow morning LOL

This may be of some interest, I use a utility from MS called DELPROF to remotely delete the user profiles on a weekly basis. This works well as in the process of deleting the profiles it deletes the users internet temp files, cookies, and everything else. There are several command line switches to customize which profiles are removed, and it runs well from a batch file.
