Greetings,
Some of our patrons are experiencing very frequent PWB crashes when using AOL email, via www.aol.com.
This morning, a patron told me that he used to be able to look at multiple email accounts on multiple windows simultaneously (Yahoo Mail, Hotmail, etc.), but that as of today, all the PCs he's tried it on crash.
We're running PWB v. 2.09.2 on all these machines, XP Professional sp2 with all the updates, along with Deep Freeze Enterprise and Microsoft Windows Defender.
Any ideas as to why these email crashes may be happening? I searched the archives, and found a posting from 2004 re limiting popups via "[SecondWindow] LimitCount="
The posting also talked about an overly large IE cache not clearing properly.
Do these suggestions still hold true today?
Thanks for any light you can shed,
Jeff

Jeff,
Have you tried using PWB v2.090.3?
Large cache files can crash Internet Explorer and thus PWB. If you are not using the Clear Cache on Close, you should try turning it on. If you are using it, check the Windows profile to see if it is overly large. If it is overly large the IE cache may be corrupt. You can clear it by hand by either deleting the Windows profile, or using the Control Panel applet Internet Settings.
