Just curious if anyone has a good method of controlling the system volume when the systray is locked. We are using the Microsoft Shared Computer toolkit, and have utilized the policy to disable access to any programs from the systray.
Basically, some of our locations are noisier than others, so the standard default volume isn't cutting it.
Can someone assist?
Regards,
Rob
Volume control utility?
Hi Rob,
I wrote a program to help in this situation for our Children's section.
One part of the program is a service which you install on the target computer.
The other part is run from our central admin PC. It contacts the service on the target machine and sets the volume to the required level.
It's command line driven, but I made several batch files for staff and they just click on shortcuts to them named appropriately, eg. "Childrens 1 - 20% Volume".
I can send some source code or compiled files if interested.
