Security software for public workstations?

We are trying to make changes to our public Library PCs (running Windows XP SP2). We run a large number of applications (MS Office, database clients, etc.). Right now we are using Fortres 101 and group policy for workstation/application security, and PWB to secure the browser. However, during the last year, to accommodate our patrons better and add functionality (like Firefox), I started looking into different security mode - permit as much as we can, and use Clean Slate in addition to Fortres to remove any changes on PC reboot. I am also looking into Deep Freeze software. There are seem to be problems with both, so I am trying to solicit some feedback.

Can you share your experience in securing public workstation? What software do you use? Any problems? Any suggestions? We are trying to find out what you are using, and why you picked a particular package (or why you did not).

Lockdown software can control the computer at the application level and the OS level. Various methods are used to implement restrictions. Registry manipulation is a very popular method; however, the restriction features offered are usually the same features found in Microsoft policies.
