PWB 2.1.0.7 "Refresh" Issue

Post by abartnik »

Hi there,

We seem to be having an issue with PWB and page refresh. From time to time (the issue is not consistent) pages that are set as the start page and home page continuously refresh roughly once a second and do not allow the page to load completely.

We use the software in conjuction with Fortres Cleanslate v5 (to remove access and changes to the harddrive upon reboot). It was discovered that when disabling Cleanslate the pages started to load normally.

This was not an issue until recently, we have been using the same configuration of Cleanslate and PWB for at least 6 months.

Is there some sort of cacheing issue here that has evolved? Not sure where to start the chase. Let me know what files/logs can help.

Thanks,

Scott

What version of PWB are you using?

You indicate you are using PWB v2.10.7, but have been using the same configuration for 6 months. PWB v2.10.7 was released yesterday.

What is the URL of the page exhibiting the problem?

IniFileVersion=2.10

Valid point, we have been using the same ini file while replacing the .exe as updates come out. Its probably way past due for rebuilding it. That will be our next step unless there is a more straightforward solution.

If you right click on the PWB.EXE file, what verison is indicated on the Version tab, for example 2.1.0.7?

Hi Scott,

Sorry for the long delay in reply. We rebuilt our PWB.ini file and updated it to 2.1.0.7 (so it now the same version as everything else). After leaving it in place for a while, staff are still reporting that the issue exists. A restart of the machine seems to fix the problem "for a while" but it returns.

Are there any specific directories/registry keys that PWB uses that need to have complete access? i.e. is there anything that needs to be added as a special rule to bypass security software etc.

Thanks,

Scott

PWB uses Internet Explorer for all its browsing functionality, so anything that IE needs, or uses, it is the same for PWB.
