Shellbar icons not visible in IE8

Post by spa »

Hi,

from a central point I have a shellbar folder with 4 icons.
The pwb.ini file directs to this folder. If I start PWB the icons are not visible. What can I do to solve this problem.

Thanks in advance.

What is the path you have to the shellbar folder in the INI file?

Are the buttons there, and work, but they have no icons?

Hi Scott,

the path to the shellbar folder in the INI file:
[Files]
ShellBarFolder=\\server\internetpc\shellbar

The folder is located in that UNC path.

The folder contains 4 shortcut buttons. The buttons work. When you press one you go to the Internet address.
But the icons are not visible in the button.

Has it got to do with the shellbar32.dll file?

The computers run Windows XP SP3 with IE8.

You are several versions behind and the UNC paths may not be supported in the older version you are using. Try using the current verison of PWB v2.10.8 available on our Beta Download page.

The UNC paths were inadvertainly broken in PWB v2.10.7. You will need to upgrade to PWB v2.10.7 then use the new PWB v2.10.8 EXE from the beta site.

Here is how to upgrade to the current version:

PWB v2.10.8 is in the final stages of testing and should be release within the next few weeks.
