Using Offcie viewers opens blank PWB window

Post by jamaz »

We're testing using an Office 2003 Viewer to open doc and xls files which works fine, except PWB opens a blank window as well as the office app. I've searched this forum and the help file, but cannot locate a solution.
Anyone else have this issue or a resolution?
Thanks,
Jan

Are you using Windows XP SP3?

What is the full version of PWB including the minor revision, for example v2.10.9.

You are 9 revisions behind on PWB, try upgrading to the current version PWB v2.10.9.

For security reasons you may want to upgrade to Windows XP SP3 and Internet Explorer 8.

Thanks for the suggestion, however, we have no plans or desire to upgrade at this time due to infrastructure challenges...
From your suggestion, can I infer that Office viewers are not supported in PWB v. 2.1.0.0?

Upgrading PWB with a revision is easily accomplished by copying the new PWB.EXE file over the old PWB.EXE file. No other changes are needed in your PWB deployment.

We tested the Office Viewers in PWB v2.10.9 on our test systems and they seem to work without trouble.

There are quite a bit of changes from PWB v2.10.0 released in 2006 to PWB v2.10.9 released in 2010. Before we can begin to verify, trouble shoot, and present a solution for the issue you are having, we will need to start with the current revision of PWB you are using. There is really no point starting from PWB v2.10.0 as the source code has changed, and any fix in the code will need to start from PWB v2.10.9, the current revision.
