Privacy Issue: Barcodes are Displayed

Post by LeslieLib »

I am a relatively new user of PWB and I apologize in advance if this topic was already discussed. My problem is that the barcodes of our library users are displayed when a search is completed. At the point where the patron places a hold on an item, as he enters the first digit of his barcode, all previous barcodes come into view. Is there a setting somewhere that would prevent this?

This is part of the Internet Explorer Auto Complete functionality. You can either use the Internet Options Control Panel applet to turn off Auto Complete for the account that runs PWB, or set the following in the PWB INI file.

[Browser]
DisableAutoComplete=True

You may need to clear the current Auto Complete for the Windows account to totally clear the list.
