We are securing several terminals for public internet use, and I'm using PWB v2 and HideGUI with some success. However, the cntrl-alt-delete has continued being a problem. On some computers, I'm able to disable the task manager using gpedit, but an annoying little popup (you cant' do this, your administrator has blocked it (paraphrasing)) keeps popping up in the taskbar every time someone tries it. The result is a taskbar filled with these messages. I can't truly hide the taskbar because the timer program we use minimizes to the task bar so it dissapears if you do (there's no fix to this yet, I'm working on disabling the minimize).
Now, my predesesor used an old program called 'surfmate st' to supress any open windows, so the task manager need not be surpressed, since it will automatically close as soon as it's open. This is a great program, with a fundamental flaw: it's old, they don't make it any more, and I don't have any documentation so I have no idea about the care and feeding of it. Any information about this program would be greatly appreciated. But does anyone have any idea how to supress that little pop up? Or do you have a different approach to this problem?
Ok, my next problem is with newer computers that are "domain" based. What I mean by that is that when you press cntrl-alt-delete, the windows security popup comes on, with buttons that say "lock computer", "task manager", "logoff", etc. When you disable the task manager from the gpedit, it just removes some of those buttons, but the windows still pops up every time you press the dreaded combination. Any idea how to deal with these?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
