IE version reporting old

Post by wyoung »

Public Broswer v2.0.9.1
IE8
WinXP

When visiting internal google apps, the website states that I'm running old version of IE (using public browser). When I go to same site w/o public browser I don't get this message.???

Upgrade to at least of PWB version 2.11 which does auto IE detection and sets the proper mode. In the older versions of PWB the IE control PWB utilizes defaults to compatibility mode.

Upgrading to the current version:

Is upgrading from 2.0.9.1 to 2.11 as simple as replacing the .exe and .ini? Thanks Scott for the quick response.

We had a similar problem with a web site reporting that we have an incompatible version of the browser even though we have IE 9 installed on Windows 7, which was listed as a supported version. We have the latest version of PWB installed. Anything we can look at that might need to be tweaked for browser detection?
