Prevent Printing

To prevent printing for applications such as Acrobat, use the Control Panel Administrative Tools Services applet stop the "Print Spooler" service and change the "Startup Type" to disabled.

You can also create a NULL printer to print to.

Creating a Null Printer on Windows XP

1. Click the Start Button and choose “Printers and Faxes”
2. Click on "Add a Printer"
3. Add it as a local printer and uncheck "Automatically Detect"
4. Click on "Create a new port:"
5. Choose "Local Port"
6. The port name is "nul" (yes one "l")
7. Select “Generic / Text Only” driver
8. Name the printer whatever you want
