PWB v3 with Chrome

Post by Scott »

PWB v3 will have native support for the Chrome Engine via the Chromium Embedded Framework version 3.

However, before we can incorporate the following issues need to be resolved.

Printing Support:

Popup Window Support:

So Scott

When will PWB V3 work on Chrome-embedded, and how would one go about setting it up?

I currently use PWB v3 for our Library catalog, but chrome displays the catalog search results SO MUCH faster than IE. I'm really interested in this implementation.

Thanks
KP

Once the CEF Library includes the fixes we will incorporate the Chrome engine. All that will need to be done is to copy the new PWB.EXE and the Chrome files into the PWB folder.

Do you have an ETA on the CEF fixes?

Unfortunately we have no control over the CEF project so we can not give any timelines on when they will incorporate the fixes.

Hi Scott,

If I understand them correctly the CEF3 project are now reporting both issues 520 and 505 (as of yesterday) as fixed. Have they done enough for you to move forward with PWB support for the Chrome engine?

Thanks,

Tim

Yes they were fixed, and we are currently working on incorporating CEF into PWB. However we want to wait for a new official release version of CEF before we release PWB with CEF for testing.

We are still working on new windows, filters, and a few other aspects, but if you want a sneak peak of PWB version 3.10.0 with Chrome Engine support (PWB_CEF_ALPHA_TEST) we made it available on the Beta Downloads page.
