referring URL authentication

Post by rer »

Indiana has a resource, INSPIRE (http://inspire.in.gov/) that relies on referring URL authentication. When I click on the link from within *IE* from our database page (http://archive.goshenpl.lib.in.us/opac.html ; choose INSPIRE link ; once in INSPIRE choose Search by database link ; then choose specific database -- e.g., Masterfile Premier) I am *able* to access the specific database. However, when I try to access it from within PWB following the exact same steps I get an error message saying that it was unable to authenticate via the referring URL. Any thoughts?

Try setting the following in your INI file.

[Browser]
DisableNewWindowInit=True

--Scott

I am running Windows 7, 64bit.

I have installed the BETA for SETPWB (one mentioned for Vista, etc).

PWB will operate as the default browser in my admin profile but not a user profile (which is my goal).

Any suggestions?

You need to run SetPWB when logged on as the user.

You can also try setting the following in your INI file.

[Security]
SetPWBAsDefault=True

--Scott
