PWBv3 and screensaver
PWBv3 and screensaver
The Windows 7 screensaver does not seem to work in either PWB 3.03.8 or PWB 3.03.6. This must be a Windows 7 issue because the screensaver works well in Windows XP running PWB 3.03.6. Is there a work around? I am using secure mode.

Re: PWBv3 and screensaver
The screen saver will not work in secure mode as PWB is running in an alternate Windows desktop in secure mode. This is the same way the Windows Screen saver runs.
In order to use a screen saver you will need to take PWB out of secure mode and use HideGUI to hide the Windows Graphical User Interface.

Re: PWBv3 and screensaver
Thanks for the info. It seems strange that Microsoft would reduce the functionality in Windows 7. The screen saver works so well with PWB 3.03.6 running in secure mode that I'm going to refrain from updating some of our Windows XP workstations.

Re: PWBv3 and screensaver
On the download for HideGUI is says "hides the Windows NT/2000/XP Graphical User Interface (GUI), and disables selective key combinations." - does this work for Windows7 as well?Scott wrote:...

Re: PWBv3 and screensaver
It does work for Windows 7.
The only issue is the Windows 7 Start Orb cannot be hidden without also hiding the Taskbar.
