PWB and CIPA

We have a small group of public libraries that need to find a product to comply with the filtering requirements of CIPA.

Is anyone using PWB to do this?

What are the pros and cons of attempting this?

I'm having a hard time convincing the library directors that PWB can do a good job. Any ideas?

Although PWB does have a URL filtering capability, I don't see it as being marketed as a content filter. It filters by using a list of URL's that someone on your staff would have to constantly maintain in order to comply with CIPA regulations, I would assume. We use PWB at our relatively small public library, but our library consortium uses the X-stop filter on all its Internet traffic - although, since we have forgone federal funding for the filter, individual libraries are free to choose whether to filter or not.

I love PWB, but I don't see it as doing what you need it to do with regards to filtering. That doesn't mean it wouldn't work great in addition to a decent filter, of course
