No matter what I use for the path and file name. PWB cannot find my CheckURLFile. Any ideas?
Is PWB giving an error message saying it cannot find the file?
Do you have the files extensions showing in Windows Explorer?
If not, make sure the files does not include a visible extension.
Windows Explorer... Tools... Folder Options... View Tab. Check or uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types".
It is possible you filter file is named "URL.txt.txt".

Unfortunately that is not the case for me. Extensions are being shown, file is named correctly, but still not being found.
Edit to add: This is only when launched through the pinned default web browser icon. If I start it from the actual executable in the Program Files folder, all works well.

Because this is the default web browser icon that is resident in the upper left of the pinned start menu, I don't know how to recreate this.
Because it works with a normal shortcut, I hadn't messed with using a fully qualified path lest I break the one part that was working. However, deciding to give it a go anyway, this did fix the default icon, as well.
When this particular station was installed, the tech also set PWB as shell rather than leaving it simply at default web browser. I believe that is what necessitated the extra step of ensuring the URL.txt file path was fully qualified.
Thanks!

Yes. If PWB is set as the Shell then the startup folder will be random, and not specifying the full path to the URL file can result in PWB not finding the file.
