Problem with Mastering Chemistry site.

Post by rheckber »

We are having problems with the masteringchemistry site. (and biology).
Basically, students type in their answers to a series of chemistry problem sets online and submit each problem's answer in the problem's individual box as they scroll down through the problems. (All on a single page) The problem is they can input any 1 answer on any 1 problem and after that it will not accept any answer inputted, If you submit a wrong answer it won't accept a corrected answer and if you input a correct answer it won't let you submit an answer in another problem. The submit button (one for each box) just stops functioning
In IE8 this works fine on the same machine. I am running PWB 2.10.8.

The site is here http://www.masteringchemistry.com/ but unfortunately it is a pay site that accompanies a textbook. I am trying to get an access code for it.

Has anyone had this problem before?

The requirements for the site are here http://www.masteringchemistry.com/site/ ... ments.html

As far as I can tell we meet them but I'm not so sure about the session cookies and the java stuff however I do have java installed on the machine. For that matter I'm not sure there isn't a problem with popups.

As an aside, this was an issue when we were using 2.10.4 and IE7

Try using PWB with a stock unedited INI file on the web site. This should rule out any configuration issues.

Unfortunately without being able to test the site directly it is very difficult to trouble shoot the issue on our end.
