Adobe .fdf file and PWB

Post by lzevnik »

We're running PWB on our public PCs and if a patron tries to open an Adobe .fdf file from a web site, it tries to open in IE. We use ManageIE to prevent access to IE. Can PWB open this kind of file and how do I get it to open in PWB? The file default is to open in Acrobat Reader and we're using Reader v. 7

If an FDF file is associated with Acrobat, then it should open in the Acrobat ActiveX control inside of PWB.

Do you have an example URL?

The file is associated with Reader, and a Reader window will open, but then it tries to open IE. I've tried changing the setting in Reader to not open in a browser, but that didn't work. I've been reading on forums about SetPWB. Would that solve this issue?

Unfortunately, the example I currently have includes confidential information a patron agreed to let us use, but she does not want us passing it on to anyone else. I will see if I can find another exapmle.
