History File Token Code

Here is a list of the codes PWB uses in the history file.

<-> Normal, URL entered in Address box
<p> Page Printed
<e> PWB error occurred
<t> URL Tracking, TrackURL=True
<a> Access logging, LogAccess=True
<a-> Access string was denied
<a+> Access string was allowed
<a;> Access string was not found
<ad> Pop-up closed, ClosePopupAds=True
<d> Access string denied, LogDeniedAccess=True
<ur> Pop-up closed, DisableUnrequested=True
<a=> Execute Access allow download
<a#> Execute Access navigate to file
<a!> Execute Access open in application specified

The history file has many levels at which it writes so you can control the amount of information that is written.

HistoryFile=History.txt
Enables History file and writes all URLs entered in the Address bar.

LogAccess=True <a-> <a+> <a;> <ad>
Causes PWB to write to the history file when access for the IP, URL, and POPUP, filters are used.
<a-> Access string was denied
<a+> Access string was allowed
<a;> Access string was not found
<ad> Popup ad is being checked
<d> Access string denied

TrackURL=True <t>
Causes PWB to write to the history file when any URL is browsed to.

CheckURLAccess=False
CheckIPAccess=False
ClosePopupAds=False
Used with log access if the history file is enabled.

To limit the history file, you should have TrackURL and LogAccess set to False.

What does <a*> mean in the history file?

The "<a*>" means PWB check for access on the URL and did not find any matching strings in the filter file so it is taking the default action supplied in either the "+all" or "-all" option.

... and <d> ? (which always seems to follow an <a*> for the same URL in my logs).
