Paste bug

A patron was trying to copy some text from a Web page into the adress bar and was unable to do so. They selected the text, pressed the Copy button in the toolbar, put the cursor into the address bar and the Paste button did not become active. I was able to repeat this problem.

It seems as if the Paste button does not become active until the cursor is in a field in a Web page. It does not become active in the address bar until I place the cursor in a field on a Web page and then put the cursor in the Address bar.

I've had a patron complain of a similar problem. This patron is trying to copy URLs from the address bar into a message forum he subscribes to (much like this one). If he tries to do this is a single window, the Paste button will be active, but nothing will happen. If he opens a second window and toggles between the two (copying from one and pasting in the other), a different and completely unrelated URL appears.

There is a bug in PWB v2.04r2 that may exhibit this behavior. This has been looked at and corrected in PWB v2.04r4. PWB v2.04r4 is now in beta testing and available for downlod from the download page.

As a work around, you can use the Ctrl-C/V to copy and paste to and from the address bar.
