Kiosk Mode and Desktop icons
I have a group policy set to hide all desktop icons. Before PWB opens, the desktop is empty. I have found that if I open PWB2 in kiosk mode and close it, icons, including the control panel icon, appear on the desktop. PWB is set to re-open on close, but the desktop icons are visible while it re-starts.
Re: Kiosk Mode and Desktop icons
In kiosk mode PWB simply opens full screen with the title bar removed thus covering the Taskbar. PWB does not attempt to change the Desktop policies.
You can use HideGUI available free on our Downloads page to effectively hide the Desktop instead of using Windows Policies.
Or you can use PWB Secure mode which opens PWB in an alternate Windows Desktop.
