PowerPoint ignores PWB default setting?

Post by jwatson »

Hi!

We're currently using PWB on our public library machines. We used the SetPWB script to set it up as the default web browser and we use the MangeIE script to completely disable IE. We just discovered that PowerPoint refuses to launch PWB from a hyperlink inside of a presentation even when it's set as the default browser. Instead, it attempts to launch IE (which is disabled), so nothing appears to happen. I tried it on my machine where FireFox is the default browser and it opened FireFox as expected. Is this a bug of some sort or is this just an unfortunate side-effect of PWB using IE internals? Thanks!

I am looking into all the settings in the registry that SetPWB needs to set in order to have PWB set to be the default browser. Apparently SetPWB is not getting them all set.
