Hi Scott and all
I have struck an issue with Secure Mode and a wonderful windows foible. This may not apply to those outside the US, but anyone who is in another part of the world with their own version of English may come across this.
As we are in New Zealand, when we get a new PC, it comes with both English (United States) US Keyboard and English (New Zealand) US Keyboard in the language selector in the notification area.
Our IT directorate has decided that they must lock down our catalogue computers using group policies. This would be awesome if it worked, but we have struck a problem. There is (apparently) currently no GP that will remove the language selector from the taskbar, and because it is left there, it overshadows the lower-right corner of PWB when running in secure mode. Apparently there used to be a GP that could be used to remove this, but since Win10 1909 they removed a heap of GP's, and are only just slowly adding them back in again, and this is one of them that they have not added back.
Short of trying to convince our main IT directorate guys to release the machines from their restricted GP's so I can manually remove a language so this box doesn't show up in Secure Mode, can anyone think of another way to remove this from the profile (by GP, Local Policy, registry edit, anything short of white-out on the screen )
Thanks in advance for your help
Cheers
Rob

Would it be possible to post a screenshot so we can get an idea of what you are seeing?

Good morning Scott
The best I can do from Secure Mode is a couple of photos. I hope they help.

Re: Secure mode and input method switching
Rob,
If you can find the process name of the language selector you can use the PWB start up script setting to run a batch file to kill the process.
[Files]
StartupScript=batchfile.cmd
