Max_Path and cache

We are encountering a problem where a users profile ends up with a cached file that exceeds the Max_Path of 255 chars. When this occurs the profile will become corrupt if it is deleted because this file cannot be removed.

Is this a PWB issue or an Internet Explorer issue? Is there a setting somehwere that will not allow a path to exceed 255 chars?

Because PWB uses the IE HTML rendering engine, including all functionality dealing with the cache files, it would appear this would be a IE problem, not a PWB problem.

Have you tried applying all the patches for IE or upgrading to the newest version?
