disable compatibility view in IE8

Post by akola »

How can i disable compatibility view in IE 8? PWB version is 2.04 User agent string.com still points to the following information.

MSIE 7.0 Internet Explorer version 7.0 (MSIE 8.0 in 7.0 compatibility view)

http://www.teamsoftwaresolutions.com/fo ... php?t=1177

I tried editing the registry as posted in the above link for all users. But got same error.

How to set IE in standar mode? Thank you.

You should upgrade to the newest version of PWB version 2.10.8 and leave the following setting empty.

[Browser]
IEBrowserEmulation=

If you the setting is not in your INI file it will default to native IE mode in version 2.11.*.

If you want to set PWB to compatibility mode add the setting to your INI file.

If you visit the following URL it will tell you if you are in compatibility mode.

Hi Scott, After upgrading INI to 2.11 using PWBINI.exe and copying PWB.exe to PWB folder I am getting the following error on my test machine.

The wrong version of INI file was used.
The INI is returning 2.11 as the version. THe version of PWB requires 2.04 of the ini file. Check your INI file and try again

Is there something missing? Can you please check.

You did not follow steps 8 and 9 to replace your PWB executable version 2.04 with version 2.11.

The error message you are indicating...
The wrong version of INI file was used.
The INI is returning 2.11 as the version. The version of PWB requires 2.04 of the ini file. Check your INI file and try again
...says the INI file is 2.11, but the EXE is 2.04.

Please check the shortcut that is starting PWB to ensure it is pointing to a PWB.EXE version 2.11 executable.

If the INI file was not updated and you were using PWB 2.11 the message would be reversed.

Hi Scot, I have disabled compatibility mode from PWB by adding IEBrowserEmulation=

but it wont take it. I have disabled it from IE 8, edited registry but still nothing. PWB browser still running in Compatibility mode which is causing issues with catalog.

Any help will be really appreciated.
Thank you.

What version of PWB are you using?

If you are using IE 8.0 you should upgrade to a newer version of IE since most sites are no longer compatible with IE 8.0.
